Dozens Injured in Mosque Explosion During Friday Prayers in Jakarta

An explosion rocked a mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital, during Friday prayers, leaving dozens injured, according to police reports.
Jakarta Police Chief Asep Edi Suheri confirmed that 54 people were taken to various hospitals with injuries ranging from minor wounds to severe burns. The blast occurred at a mosque located within a school complex in the Kelapa Gading area.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion, though no details have been released yet.
“We have taken several measures such as investigating the crime scene, setting up a police line and sterilising the area,” Suheri said.
