Manchester City midfielder Rodri has sparked fresh transfer speculation after admitting that turning down elite clubs like Real Madrid would be difficult.

In a recent interview with Spanish radio station Onda Cero, the Spain international acknowledged the appeal of playing for one of the world’s biggest teams, stating that “you cannot turn down the best clubs in the world.”

The 29-year-old, who joined Manchester City from Atlético Madrid in 2019, is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in world football and played a key role in the club’s historic trophy successes, including multiple Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.

Rodri, whose current contract runs until 2027, revealed that discussions over his future could take place soon, noting that there will come a time for both parties to “sit down and talk.”

His comments come amid growing links with a return to Spain, with the midfielder also expressing a desire to play again in La Liga at some stage in his career.
