Senegal Suffer Heartbreaking Collapse as Belgium Advance

Senegal’s FIFA World Cup journey ended in devastating fashion after surrendering a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 against Belgium after extra time in their Round of 32 clash in Seattle.

The Lions of Teranga looked set for the Round of 16 after goals from Habib Diarra and Ismaïla Sarr put them firmly in control.

However, Belgium mounted a dramatic late comeback as Romelu Lukaku scored in the 86th minute before Youri Tielemans headed home the equaliser just minutes later.

Tielemans then completed the turnaround with a penalty in the 125th minute following a VAR-reviewed foul.

Belgium’s remarkable fightback sends them into the Round of 16, while Senegal bow out after one of the most painful collapses of the tournament despite dominating large spells of the match.
