Morka Rates Tinubu Above Every Elected President

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has placed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s performance above that of every democratically elected Nigerian president, particularly during their first terms in office.
Morka made the claim during an interview on Channels Television while defending the Tinubu administration’s record and its economic reforms.
According to the APC spokesman, Tinubu inherited an economy in serious difficulty when he assumed office in 2023 but has since introduced policies that, in his view, have significantly improved Nigeria’s macroeconomic position.
Morka argued that the evidence of the administration’s performance could be seen in the country’s economic indicators.
He also described former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as a “stopgap” government that, according to him, kept the country from sliding further after 16 years of PDP rule before Tinubu took over.
He further maintained that Nigeria had moved beyond what he described as the worst of its macroeconomic difficulties, adding that even some critics of the Tinubu administration were beginning to acknowledge changes in the economy.
Since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999, the presidency has been held by Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu. Tinubu is currently in the fourth year of his first term.
