“Mr Macaroni Handed Me ₦200k, Later Paid Me ₦1m for One Scene” — Peter Fatomilola

Veteran Nollywood actor Peter Fatomilola has recounted how comedian and actor Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, surprised him with generous payments after they met on a movie set.

Fatomilola shared the experience during a recent interview with Africa List, recalling how Mr Macaroni first encountered him after he had completed two scenes for a production in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the veteran actor, he had been paid ₦50,000 by the person who invited him for the two scenes. However, after the shoot, Mr Macaroni reportedly escorted him to his car and offered him money for fuel, eventually handing him ₦200,000.

Fatomilola said the encounter later led to another opportunity when Mr Macaroni invited him to feature in a movie alongside veteran actor Pete Edochie.

The actor said he was not told beforehand that he would receive such a large payment for the role. After completing the scene, he later discovered that Mr Macaroni had sent him ₦1 million.

“We were still in Lekki. I asked how much he sent. One million naira,” Fatomilola recalled.

Fatomilola also revealed that two children who accompanied him to the movie set received ₦100,000 and ₦50,000 respectively from Mr Macaroni, according to reports of the interview.

Peter Fatomilola is a veteran Nigerian actor, dramatist and playwright whose career spans several decades.

He began his professional theatre career in 1967 with the Olokun Theatre Group led by Professor Ola Rotimi and later worked with Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka. He also taught at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he studied Theatre Arts.
