Speed Darlington, Former Manager Clash Over ₦30m Carter Efe Fight Deal

Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has become embroiled in a public dispute with his former aide, Goskey, over alleged unpaid earnings and a disagreement about commission following his boxing match against fellow entertainer Carter Efe.

Goskey, who said he worked with the singer for four years, announced the end of their professional relationship, alleging that he received only ₦250,000 from a reported ₦30 million payment connected to the boxing event.

According to several reports, Goskey claimed that Speed Darlington had previously promised him a six per cent commission on every job but later disputed the arrangement, arguing that they had no formal contract.

Goskey also alleged that he used his personal funds to support the singer, including travelling to Abuja during his arrest and covering transportation expenses while helping to arrange the entertainer’s engagements.

He expressed dissatisfaction with what he described as inadequate compensation for his contributions, insisting that his efforts to secure opportunities and connect the singer with influential people were not properly rewarded.

The controversy follows Speed Darlington’s boxing match against Carter Efe at the Chaos in the Ring event in Lagos on October 1, 2026. Carter Efe won the four-round contest by unanimous decision.
