EU Commits to Two-Year Financial Support Plan for Ukraine

The European Union is set to approve, in principle, a new financial assistance package to support Ukraine over the next two years, according to EU Council chief Antonio Costa.

Costa, who arrived alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, confirmed that the bloc is determined to meet Ukraine’s financial requirements during this period.

“We will take the political decision to ensure the financial needs of Ukraine for 2026 and 2027, including for the acquisition of military equipment,” said Costa, who chairs summits of EU leaders.

At the summit, leaders of the European Union will also reiterate backing for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
