Gareth Southgate Rules Out Return to Premier League Management
Gareth Southgate says he does not expect to return to Premier League management, revealing why he stepped away from football after Euro 2024.

Former England manager Gareth Southgate has ruled out a return to Premier League management, stating he no longer sees himself going back to the dugout. Southgate made this revelation in an interview on The Amol Rajan Connection, reflecting on his life since leaving the England national team after Euro 2024 heartbreak.
Southgate admitted that he had stopped enjoying victories towards the end of his nearly eight-year spell as England manager. He also explained that wins only made him happy for a few minutes, adding that his desire to remain involved in football had significantly changed since stepping away from the role.
Southgate had resigned after England lost 2-1 to Spain in the Euro 2024 final, having also guided the same team to the Euro 2020 final and the 2018 World Cup semi-finals. Since leaving the job, he has explored opportunities outside football management, including media projects and says he has enjoyed experiencing life beyond the pressures of winning and losing matches.
