Gov. Fubara Emphasizes Peace as Key to Community Development

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday, made his first public appearance since resuming office, attending the 2025 Polo Harvest Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Opobo.

Accompanied by his wife and close associates, the governor urged Rivers people to embrace peace as a vital symbol of unity and progress for the state.

He highlighted that “the greatest thing anyone can wish for is peace,” noting that peace within a community fosters development and personal well-being. “Peace with yourself is good health and the most important thing. So, I key into this special International Day of Peace to urge everyone to make sure that they hold peace as a symbol of unity and development for our dear State,” he said.

Governor Fubara clarified that his visit was a quiet act of gratitude to God for His blessings on him, his family, and Rivers State, rather than a grand thanksgiving event, though he promised a larger celebration later.

He expressed gratitude to the church and community for their unwavering prayers and support.

The governor was joined by Amaopusenibo Fubara Hart, Chief Oris Onyiri, Chief Damiete Miller, Hon. Theodore Georgewill, and Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, and received prayers from the church during the service.
