Katsina: Police Boost Security Measures for Schools

The Katsina State Police Command has ordered a full activation of school protection protocols to enhance the safety of students and staff across the state.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bello Shehu, issued the directive to the Coordinator of the School Protection Squad during a meeting with tactical commanders aimed at reviewing and strengthening the command’s overall security strategies.

The instruction, confirmed on Monday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, underscores the police’s commitment to preventing threats and ensuring a secure learning environment for all schools in Katsina.

Shehu explained that this was in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, to prioritise safety and security around educational institutions.

The commissioner ordered the deployment of additional resources to ensure the security especially in educational institutions in the state.

Shehu called on the public to intensify efforts in supporting the crime-fighting measures of the command to safeguard schools and communities in the state.
