Our People and Region Deserve Peace and Dialogue, Not War — Venezuela’s Interim President

Venezuela’s interim leadership signaled a shift in approach on Sunday, expressing readiness to work with the United States on a framework centered on what it described as mutual economic progress.
The statement marked the first conciliatory response since U.S. forces detained President Nicolás Maduro over the weekend.
In a message shared online, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez said her administration was seeking to reset relations with Washington on the basis of dialogue and mutual respect, despite having earlier condemned the operation as an unlawful attempt to seize control of Venezuela’s natural wealth.
“We invite the US government to collaborate with us on an agenda of cooperation oriented towards shared development within the framework of international law to strengthen lasting community coexistence,” Rodriguez said. “President Donald Trump, our peoples and our region deserve peace and dialogue, not war.”
