TG Omori Reveals His Brother’s Kidney Transplant Failed

Nigerian music video director TG Omori has revealed that his brother donated a kidney to him after his family spent about nine months searching for a suitable donor, but the transplant failed.

Speaking on the Afropolitan Podcast, Omori said doctors discovered after the transplant that his body was not accepting the donated kidney. He said another attempt was made, but the kidney still did not respond, forcing doctors to remove it and put him back on dialysis while he recovered.

Omori said: “My brother gave me his kidney after it took us 9 months of struggle to find a donor. After the transplant was successful, the doctor told me it wasn’t a match and my body wasn’t accepting it. The doctor tried again, but it wasn’t responding.”

He added that his brother is now living with one kidney, describing the situation as another traumatic part of his experience.

Reports say Omori later underwent another transplant after waiting several more months.
