U.S. Releases Photos, Recovers Rifle in Manhunt for Charlie Kirk’s Killer

U.S. authorities have escalated their search for the gunman who fatally shot conservative activist Charlie Kirk, recovering a bolt-action rifle believed to be the murder weapon and releasing images of a “college-age” person of interest. The dramatic development follows the shocking assassination of the 31-year-old podcast host and Trump ally during a speech at Utah Valley University (UVU) on Wednesday.
Kirk was struck by a single bullet while addressing a crowd of approximately 3,000 at an outdoor event titled “Prove Me Wrong” in Orem, Utah.
President Donald Trump condemned the killing as a “heinous assassination,” vowing justice for the influential commentator.
FBI and Utah state officials revealed the shooter arrived on campus minutes before the event began, firing from an elevated position before fleeing.
Security-camera videos show an armed individual ascending stairwells to get onto a roof before firing at Kirk, the officials told a news conference.
Kirk, a staunch defender of gun rights, was answering an audience question about mass shootings when the bullet struck his neck, prompting audience members to flee in panic
