Venezuela Welcomes Regional Backing After U.S. Strike

The Venezuelan government has acknowledged expressions of regional solidarity following recent military action by the United States.
Authorities in Caracas specifically thanked former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for his message of support.
In a post shared on X, Venezuela’s Foreign Minister, Yvan Gil, said the Bolivarian government deeply appreciated Obrador’s stance, describing it as a reflection of strong Latin American bonds.
Gil added that the message underscored a shared regional position against what Venezuela views as U.S. intervention in the affairs of sovereign nations.
The statement accused the Trump administration of “global tyranny” and praised voices that defend Venezuela’s sovereignty and dignity.
Earlier, Mexico strongly condemned the US move, calling it an “arrogant attack on the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people and the kidnapping of their president” and saying the attack “seriously jeopardises regional stability”.
Other Latin American countries that have expressed their support and solidarity to Venezuela include Brazil, Colombia and Cuba.
