10 Things You Missed During BBNaija S11 Opening Night

Big Brother Naija Season 11 kicked off Sunday night with the “Show Ya Sef” edition, introducing 24 housemates competing for a ₦160 million grand prize. Here are some of the standout moments from the premiere, hosted once more by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

1. A married housemate entered the house. Abi, a 25-year-old chef and model from Osun State, revealed she’s married and entered wearing her wedding ring, immediately sparking online debate.

2. Another housemate confessed to being in a relationship. Martins, a 30-year-old visual storyteller from Kogi State, disclosed he has a partner outside the house despite joining the competition.

3. Falz and Ycee performed live. The premiere featured live musical performances that stole part of the spotlight from the housemate reveals themselves.

4. The prize money hit a franchise record. At ₦160 million, this season’s grand prize is the largest in BBNaija’s 11-season history.

5. Four extra housemates were unveiled mid-show. Abi, Chimsom Chuka, Keivo, and Mercedes were introduced as a second wave after the initial reveal.

6. A pharmacist joined the cast. Chimsom Chuka, 27, said he plans to bring “physical strength and mental smartness” to the game.

7. One housemate embraced being “wicked.” Keivo, a 27-year-old web developer, described his personality as “kind, wicked, and logical.”

8. The full cast spans wildly different professions. This season includes lawyers, streamers, a massage therapist, an event planner, and a dancer among the 24 contestants.

9. Production took 8 months to build. MultiChoice Nigeria revealed preparations began as early as November 2025, covering architectural design and technical installation.

10. The finale date is already set. Season 11 is expected to run roughly 10 weeks, with the winner crowned in early October 2026.
