Trump Insists Iran Blockade Will Continue Until Deal Is Reached

U.S. President Donald Trump has said the American naval blockade targeting Iran will remain fully in place until a comprehensive agreement is reached with Tehran, reinforcing Washington’s pressure campaign amid ongoing negotiations.
According to reports from Reuters and the Associated Press, Trump stated that the blockade – focused on Iranian ships and ports will stay “in full force” despite signs of easing tensions in the region.
The U.S. military operation, launched earlier this week after talks in Islamabad failed to produce a deal, is aimed at restricting Iran’s ability to export oil and exert leverage over global shipping routes, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz.
Pressure Amid Fragile Diplomacy
Trump’s remarks come as diplomatic efforts continue behind the scenes, with U.S. officials expressing cautious optimism that a deal could be reached soon. However, key sticking points remain especially around Iran’s nuclear programme and broader security concerns.
“Iran will not have a nuclear weapon,” Trump has repeatedly said, underscoring Washington’s position that any agreement must include strict limits on Tehran’s nuclear capabilities.
