Former Miss Universe Nigeria battles deportation in Cape Town Court

Former Miss Universe Nigeria Chidinma Adetshina returned to the Cape Town Regional Court, continuing her legal fight against deportation from South Africa.

Chidinma was arrested on June 6 for allegedly living in South Africa without proper documentation. The South African Department of Home Affairs stated that she entered the country while being prohibited from doing so.

The appeared on at the court on June 9, where she received warning and got released. Immigration officer Adrian Jackson’s affidavit alleges she “wilfully and intentionally” remained in the country unlawfully after the warning.

The court is expected to weigh chidinma’s latest affidavit against the department’s submissions before deciding next steps.
