Tension was reported at a Registration Area Centre (RAC) in Ife East Local Government Area of Osun State on Saturday following an alleged disruption of the distribution of election materials ahead of voting.

A video circulating from the location appears to show people fleeing the area amid claims that security personnel fired tear gas at voters, election officials and other persons gathered at the centre.
The incident reportedly occurred at Ward 10 (Modakeke Ward 3), where INEC officials and election personnel had assembled with materials before proceeding to their respective polling units.
Witnesses alleged that armed policemen fired tear gas at the RAC, disrupting the movement of election officials and materials.
There were also allegations that some election materials were subsequently carted away from the centre.
However, the claim that the materials were carted away has not been independently confirmed by INEC or the Nigeria Police Force as of the time of filing this report.
Further clarification from the relevant security authorities and INEC is expected as the election progresses.
