Israeli Airstrike in Southern Lebanon Kills Two, Injures 22 Amid Fragile Ceasefire

At least two people were killed and 22 others wounded, including three children and a woman, after an Israeli airstrike struck the southern Lebanese town of Saksakiyeh on Saturday, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. 

The attack is the latest in a series of deadly incidents that have raised concerns over the stability of the already fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

Lebanese authorities said emergency teams responded to the strike shortly after it hit the Sidon district town. 

The casualties add to a growing toll from continued hostilities in southern Lebanon, where both sides have traded accusations of ceasefire violations in recent weeks.

The latest attack comes amid heightened tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border despite international efforts to sustain a U.S.-mediated truce.
