Osun 2026: Governor Adeleke Dumps PDP Over National Leadership Crisis

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has formally withdrawn his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), signalling a major political shift ahead of the 2026 elections.
The governor announced his exit in a letter dated November 4 and addressed to the PDP chairman in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government Area.
According to the letter, which circulated among journalists early Tuesday in Osogbo, Adeleke attributed his decision to the lingering leadership crisis rocking the party at the national level.
The letter reads: “Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the party with immediate effect.
” I thank the PDP for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Representative, Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”
Although the governor did not mention the party he would be defecting to in the letter, it was learnt that Adeleke might be defecting to the Accord Party in the coming days.

Great write-up, I learned something new today.
