Hamas Releases Last Surviving Israeli Hostages

In a major breakthrough under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire, Hamas on Monday released the last 20 surviving Israeli hostages, signaling what U.S. President Donald Trump called “the historic dawn of a new Middle East.”

According to the Israeli military, all remaining hostages confirmed to be alive were safely transferred from Gaza to Israel by the Red Cross.

The news sparked emotional celebrations in Tel Aviv’s “Hostage Square,” where thousands gathered—cheering, hugging, and weeping in relief.

As part of the ceasefire agreement, buses carrying Palestinian prisoners freed from Israeli jails also crossed into Gaza, a source involved in the exchange told Reuters.

The move marks a significant step toward formally ending the two-year-long conflict that has devastated Gaza and strained regional relations.
