U.S. Hits Iranian Radar Sites After Drone Threat

The United States military carried out strikes on Iranian coastal radar installations on Saturday after intercepting four Iranian drones heading toward the strategic Strait of Hormuz, marking a fresh escalation in the ongoing conflict between Washington and Tehran.
According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the drones posed an immediate threat to maritime traffic in one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes.
In response, U.S. forces targeted Iranian surveillance facilities in Goruk and on Qeshm Island to prevent further attacks.
Iran condemned the strikes, accusing Washington of violating a ceasefire agreement reached in April and warning that the United States would bear responsibility for the consequences.
Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) subsequently claimed responsibility for retaliatory attacks targeting U.S. military positions in Kuwait and Bahrain, while also threatening commercial vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz.
