Iran Warns of “Long and Painful Strikes” if U.S. Renews Attacks

Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States, saying any fresh military action would trigger sustained and severe retaliation against American positions.

According to Reuters, Iranian officials said Washington should expect “long and painful strikes” if it resumes attacks, signaling a potential escalation in tensions across the Gulf.

The warning comes amid the ongoing Strait of Hormuz crisis, which erupted after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets earlier this year.

In response, Tehran has taken steps to disrupt activity in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil route that handles roughly a fifth of the world’s petroleum supply.

The United States has been working to build an international coalition to secure and reopen the waterway, but Iran’s latest threat is complicating those efforts.
