Israel Bombs Tyre, Eight Reported Dead

At least eight people were killed after Israeli airstrikes hit the southern Lebanese port city of Tyre on Tuesday, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.

The attack came shortly after Israel issued an evacuation order covering the entire city for the first time since the latest phase of fighting began.

The strike, which targeted an area on the eastern outskirts of Tyre, is among the deadliest attacks on the historic coastal city in recent months.

Rescue teams continued searching through damaged buildings for survivors as emergency workers responded to the scene.

Tyre, a UNESCO-listed city known for its historical and cultural significance, has witnessed growing displacement following the evacuation warning.

The escalation comes amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah and threatens diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a broader ceasefire across the region.

Israeli officials have said the military operations are aimed at Hezbollah positions, while Lebanese authorities and humanitarian organizations have expressed concern over the rising civilian toll and the worsening humanitarian situation in southern Lebanon.
