Kyiv Hit by One of War’s Biggest Attacks

At least 21 people were killed and more than 90 others injured after Russia launched one of its largest aerial assaults on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, early Thursday.
Ukrainian officials said the attack involved 74 missiles and 496 drones, with explosions reported across the city overnight.
The bombardment damaged around 130 buildings, including apartment blocks, hotels, schools and other civilian infrastructure.
Emergency crews worked through the rubble for survivors as thousands of residents sought shelter in underground metro stations during the hours-long attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the strike and renewed calls for faster delivery of Western air defence systems, while Russia said the attack targeted military and energy facilities in response to recent Ukrainian strikes inside Russian territory.
International leaders, including the European Union and NATO allies, condemned the attack as rescue operations continued.
