No Immunity for Militants,” Netanyahu Vows After Beirut Strike

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that there would be “no immunity” for militants targeting Israel, following an Israeli airstrike in Beirut that reportedly killed a senior Hezbollah commander.

The strike, carried out in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Wednesday, marked Israel’s first attack on the Lebanese capital area since a ceasefire brokered last month.

According to Israeli officials, the target was Ahmed Ali Balout, a commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force.

Speaking after the operation, Netanyahu said the Hezbollah commander believed he was protected in Beirut, but warned that Israel would continue pursuing its enemies wherever they operate.

“No terrorist has immunity,” Netanyahu said in a statement.

Hezbollah has not officially confirmed Balout’s death, though the Iran-backed group condemned the Israeli strike.

The attack has raised fears of renewed escalation between Israel and Hezbollah despite ongoing ceasefire efforts.
