Iran has presented a fresh peace proposal to the United States, demanding an end to fighting across the Middle East, including in Lebanon, the withdrawal of U.S. troops from areas near Iranian borders, and compensation for damages caused during the recent U.S.-Israeli conflict.
The proposal was revealed Tuesday through Iranian state media.
According to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, Tehran is also seeking the removal of U.S. sanctions, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and an end to what it described as a U.S. naval blockade.
Iranian media said the plan was submitted as regional tensions remain high despite a fragile ceasefire reached earlier this year.
Reports from Reuters noted that the new proposal closely resembles an earlier Iranian offer that U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly dismissed last week as “garbage.”
The conflict, which escalated earlier this year, has left thousands dead across Iran and Lebanon while disrupting oil trade routes and increasing fears of a broader regional war.
