Bayern Munich are in a crucial decision-making stage over Harry Kane’s future as talks over a new contract continue amid reported interest from Barcelona and Manchester United. The England forward and captain’s current deal runs until the end of the 2026/27 season, but both Kane and Bayern have indicated that they want to explore an extension.
Initial talks between Kane and Bayern have already taken place, with the striker describing the discussions as a very positive one and Kane has also said he would like to stay in Munich long term. Bayern sporting board member Max Eberl has also expressed confidence that Kane will remain at the club, saying there are no reasons why the striker’s contract should not be extended. Kane has continued to produce at a high level since joining Bayern, including scoring 73 goals for club and country during the 2025/26 season.
Barcelona and Manchester United have reportedly been monitoring Kane’s situation as they consider attacking options, but there is currently no confirmed offer or agreement between the Spanish club and the player or Bayern. Reports of interest have therefore added pressure to the contract negotiations rather than confirming that Kane is preparing to leave the German club.
For now, Kane’s public comments point toward continuing his career at Bayern. With negotiations progressing and his existing contract still running until 2027, the key question is whether Bayern can finalise a new long-term agreement before the transfer speculation grows even further.
