Bitcoin Price Today: How Is BTC Above $86,000 again?
Bitcoin price has climbed above $86,000. Here’s what is driving the latest BTC rally and the key levels traders are watching today.

Bitcoin price has jumped above $86,000, reaching its highest level since late January as renewed buying pushed the world’s largest cryptocurrency sharply higher. Bitcoin climbed above $87,000 briefly before pulling back, with the latest rally coming alongside stronger ETF inflows and broader risk appetite.

Why Is Bitcoin Price Rising Today?
One major factor behind the move is renewed demand from cryptocurrency investors. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded significant inflows, while Strategy also purchased another 950 BTC, adding to institutional demand.
The rally was also amplified by short liquidations, as traders betting against Bitcoin were forced to close their positions when the price got higher. More than $800 million in short positions were reportedly liquidated over the 24-hour period, adding further upward pressure.
Bitcoin’s move above the $82,000 area has put the $86,000–$87,000 range back in focus. The cryptocurrency remains below its previous all-time high, meaning the latest move represents a recovery rather than a return to record levels.
