India Condemns U.S. Strike After Sailors' Deaths

India has strongly urged the United States to immediately stop attacks on commercial shipping after three Indian sailors were killed in a U.S. strike on an oil tanker near Oman.
The incident is part of a series of three U.S. strikes this week on vessels carrying Indian crew in the Gulf region.
The fatal attack targeted the tanker MT Settebello, where 21 crew members were rescued, but three were confirmed dead.
New Delhi has summoned a senior U.S. diplomat and condemned the strikes, calling for restraint, dialogue, and a return to stability in the region.
“These attacks must cease and end,” Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told reporters.”We also call for dialogue and diplomacy so that we can have an early return to peace and stability in the region.”
The U.S. military said the vessel was hit after allegedly ignoring warnings and violating an ongoing blockade on Iran-linked oil shipments—claims denied by the ship’s operators, who are demanding an investigation.
